Who's Involved:

Matt Mullins

Matt writes screenplays, poetry, and fiction. He is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Ball State University, and a faculty fellow with the campus-wide Emerging Media Initiative. He is currently at work on projects involving digital/interactive literature as well as a number of short and feature-length screenplays. His writing has appeared in Pleiades, Hunger Mountain, Harpur Palate, Descant, the interactive online literary journal Born, and in various magazines and newspapers.

Before returning to teaching in 2005, Matt was Senior Editor/Writer for Sigma6, Detroit’s premiere interactive media agency, where he wrote web copy, marketing materials, multimedia scripts and industry related articles for Fortune 500 companies.

Brad King

Brad is an assistant professor of journalism at Ball State University, where his research examines how emerging technologies are changing the ways we tell — and share — stories. He is a faculty fellow with the Emerging Media Initiative.

He has worked for Condé Nast’s Wired magazine, its sister website Wired News and MIT’s Technology Review. In 2002 he co-authored Dungeons and Dreamers, a book on the history of computer games, virtual worlds and their effects on American culture.

He sits on the advisory boards for South by Southwest Interactive and Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center Press.

Brian McNely

Brian researches the confluence of language, meaning-making, and emerging media platforms. He is an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Writing in the Department of English at Ball State University, and a faculty fellow with the campus-wide Emerging Media Initiative.
